MaroupiÂ
ÂNestled in the lush rolling hills of the North Coast, Maroupi is a family-owned and operated wedding venue that is as picturesque as it is professional. Just a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of Ballito, the tranquil and expansive Maroupi gardens provide the ideal backdrop for your special day. Not only are you allocated a professional wedding coordinator throughout your planning and on the wedding day itself, but you will also enjoy the talents of our culinary team and creative team. With both indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony, plenty of space for entertainment, and Janine Hill’s 20 years of experience, your wedding at Maroupi will be as blissful as your marriage.
The PlaceÂ
The Place is a beautiful venue for hire, situated within the Claremont Indigenous Nursery Farm in Salt Rock, just off Sheffield Drive.
It is the North Coast’s secret gem. Only a few people know about it and only the curious have experienced this quaint space. Our venue is uniquely diverse and can be used for a variety of functions ranging from small groups of five, up to large groups of 100 guests.
Over the past five years we have hosted all kinds of events, such as engagement proposals, bridal showers, weddings, birthdays, pop up markets, creative workshops and various other events and celebrations.
All functions are tailor-made to suit our clients’ budgets and needs. You can have the backdrop of the natural foliage & greenery surrounding the greenhouse, or you can add your own touches to theme your event.
The concept is simple and cost-effective as you can bring your own alcohol or offer a bar service on your behalf. We sell selected soft drinks, teas and cappuccinos. We can guide and assist with planning your special day regarding catering, flowers and décor, extra tables and chairs, crockery and cutlery, if it is required. Alternatively, you can do your own catering and décor, with a set-up and take-down time plan.
It is a creative space waiting for you.
If you would like to view the venue it is imperative to make a booking as we are only open for planned events.
The Hilton Bush LodgeÂ
ÂJust a heartbeat from Hilton Village and a stone’s throw from the renowned Midlands Meander, you will find The Hilton Bush Lodge: a venue inspired by its surroundings, waiting to make your dream wedding a reality.
The Hilton Bush Lodge, surrounded by paper barks and open grasslands and overlooking the confluence of the Umgeni and Rietspreut rivers is a classy, is a boutique wedding venue, where your style is all that matters. We firmly believe that ‘unique style is the ultimate sophistication’, and we are here to ensure all your dreams become reality. No detail is too small and no whim too whimsical.
The Hilton Bush Lodge has not one, but three ceremony areas. The gorgeous chapel is covered, and snuggles into the gardens of the venue with blinds that can be left open so you never lose that bush feeling. The incredible amphitheatre overlooks the Rietspruit waterfall, where the only music you need is the cry of the fish eagle and the sound of the falls. And finally, the kraal – nestled in the paper barks with a back drop of an old, deserted dwelling – this truly unique venue oozes Africa. Who knows, one of the local antelope might drop by to witness the exchange of vows or the guineafowl, with their raucous call, may tell all who will listen that you are now a couple. If it’s the rain bird we hear, then there is always the garden chapel to save the day.
Weddings need guests and guests need somewhere to stay. The Hilton Bush Lodge’s accommodation is the epitome of simple style and elegance, balanced with the practicality needed when ensuring everyone is comfortable and relaxed. The bridal suite includes a spacious lounge, dining room and kitchen area – perfect for the entire bride tribe and a photographer’s dream – along with a fabulously spacious bedroom and bathroom. The view from the bath needs to be seen to be believed!
All of the rooms have amazing views of the valleys and are all self-catering or semi self-catering. There are lovely boma areas where family and friends can gather, get to know one another and catch up. What could be more South African, or romantic for that matter, than a braai under stars that seem to go on forever?
A walk to the waterfall is a must for the energetic, and a swim under its water is the prize for getting there. For the less adventurous or those looking to chill closer to the lodge, the swimming pool surrounded by bush and shaded by age-old trees couldn’t be more perfect. Yes, the sun does shine in Hilton – more often than not. In winter, when the temperatures drop, fireplaces, red wine and good conversation make a perfect foil to the fun and excitement of a wedding.
Words simply cannot describe what one can only truly feel. So please come and see for yourselves the elegant simplicity that is The Hilton Bush Lodge.
