Bridgewater Spencer Architecture

In May 2004, as a recently qualified architect, I moved from Gauteng to KwaZulu-Natal to oversee a project at Prince’s Grant. The move was intended to be temporary, but I quickly fell in love with the North Coast's lifestyle, beauty and potential. By August that year, Bridgewater Spencer Architecture was officially established. What began as a single opportunity has grown into a successful practice, and choosing to stay remains one of the best decisions I've ever made
Signature Style
My designs are known for their functionality and ease of living. Rather than imposing a personal style on every project, I believe a home should reflect the lifestyle, needs and personality of its owners. My role is to interpret and enhance each client's vision, creating spaces that feel uniquely theirs. The goal is always to achieve the perfect balance between beauty and practicality, resulting in homes that remain relevant and enjoyable for years to come.
Most Exciting Part
The creative journey of turning ideas into reality. Every project presents the challenge of balancing aspirations with practical considerations such as budgets, regulations and site-specific conditions such as orientation, topography, and views. Equally rewarding is seeing families live in their completed homes and experiencing the spaces we've created together. Hearing how a home enhances their daily lives and receiving their appreciation is incredibly fulfilling and a meaningful aspect of my work.
