‘Tis the Season: Christmas at Ballito Junction

The holiday season has arrived in our town, and no place is more festive than Ballito Junction Regional Mall. With captivating lighting, rustic charm and festive decor, the mall will be transformed into a magical woodland setting to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

The newly refurbished cornerstone section will captivate young and old with firecracker lights erected on the trees, a gloriously illuminated giant “JOY” selfie station, and a cosmic light Christmas tree.

Along with enchanting decorations, Ballito Junction will be the centre of festivities. A Festive Market will take place in the new piazza area every day from 15 to 30 December, offering unique gifts for all ages. If that’s not enough, shoppers will be delighted with live music in the piazza every weekend from 1 to 23 December.

From 15 to 24 December, you will find efficient gift wrapping stations on Levels 4 and 6. All proceeds will go to Sables Creatures, a non-profit organisation assisting vulnerable animals along the Dolphin Coast.

Santa is coming to town! From 8 to 24 December, he will enjoy the Ballito weather and take photos with our little locals. Shoppers receive a digital and print copy from R120. Customed mugs and frame options are available too.

A highlight of the season is the Festive 2D Craft Café, where kiddies can enjoy 2D bauble making, 2D flower creating and decorating gingerbread men cookies. To ensure the kids get their wishlist to Santa, they can also create their own 2D letters and postcards. For parents and teens, the café is the ideal place for fabulous selfies, as it creates the illusion of a classic black and white themed café for capturing magical moments.

To make the most of the mall’s seamless shopping experience this busy time of year, Ballito Junction is extending their trading hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from 16 to 20 December and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from 21 to 23 December. To get that last bit of shopping in on Christmas Eve, stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Pick n Pay opening earlier at 7 a.m. and Checkers closing later at 9 p.m. Trading hours return to normal from December 26, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, except on public holidays and Sundays, when most stores close at 5 p.m.

On top of these festive additions, locals and visitors can relish in Ballito Junction’s impressive retail expansion from 30 November. With the revamp of the entrance comes new dining options and speciality stores in the lively piazza area. Dynamic brands like On The Move, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, One Stop Travel & Tours, Tip Top Bakery, Catia’s Restaurant and Booba Beautea alongside the revamped Pick n Pay Liquor will join the Junction family.

This December, make sure you visit Ballito Junction Regional Mall and experience the festive atmosphere while enjoying your shopping.
