Tailored Just For You

CMH motor city Ballito is more than just a dealership; it’s a family that values its customers. The purpose of this dealership is to become a one-stop shop and a dealership for everyone. Whether you’re looking for an entry-level or top-of-the-range car, they have it all. Let’s not forget the fact that they have five brands under one roof; Nissan, Renault, Ford, Mitsubishi and Suzuki, and each brand also has its own used-car range. On average, they sell 110 new and 60 used cars a month! They have a multi-franchise service centre that allows their customers to experience that one-stop shop experience so they don’t have to worry about where they would need to send their car for a service or to be fixed. To add even more comfort for their customers, they have a fabulous little coffee shop and nail bar upstairs for you to enjoy.

Nissan and Renault

Meet Stuart Singleton, the CMH Nissan and Renault Ballito Dealer Principle. He has worked in this industry for 32 years and will celebrate 18 years at CMH Nissan Ballito later this year. He used to work at Pinetown CMH group and lived in Durban for 12 years before moving to Ballito last year. Stuart has won the CMH group dealer of the year award and has been nominated many times for his incredible work. He also was awarded the most profitable dealer at CMH.

We asked Stuart how vital credit is when buying a car? He said that he thinks people are very scared to ask about credit and tend to be nervous about it when they shouldn’t because he informed me that there are many ways to finance a motor vehicle. There are many deals that the banks and manufacturers have got, so there are many ways to get a car; it’s not a dead end. Stuart has seen people leave here with their vehicles in tears because they have a car, and he has told everybody that this is freedom. But yes, you need to maintain your credibility and accounts and don’t just ignore it.

Suzuki and Mitsubishi

Meet Nathi Mhlongo, the Dealer principal for Suzuki and Mitsubishi at CMH Ballito. He’s been in the motor industry since 2014 but joined CMH Group in 2015. Nathi started as a salesman and worked his way up to where he is today. Nathi has won some recognition awards, including top 10 in the performing new car department at CMH Group in 2020. He enjoys putting a smile on customers’ faces and working and meeting different people.

We asked Nathi how does one find what their trade-in is worth? Nathi said that he knows that there are different avenues through which you can check the current trade value of your vehicle. Still, he does recommend you take the car to the dealership, where it will be appropriately evaluated. The evaluation of your vehicle is based on the current book value, condition of the car and mileage. If you know you will be trading the vehicle in, it is always recommended that you try to keep it in the showroom condition as much as possible to try and maximise the trade-in value. At CMH motor city, they offer free evaluation!

Ford

Meet Dave White, the Dealer principal for Ford at CMH Ballito. He’s been in this industry since 1994, starting as an apprentice motor mechanic for Dan Perkins Toyota; he qualified as a full artisan Journeyman (Motor Mechanic) in 1997 and became a Used Vehicle Sales Executive in the later part of 1997, then to manager in 2001. Dave became a General Manager at Lexus Kingsmead (the 1st Lexus Dealership to be opened in South Africa), where he won the Manufacturer (Toyota / Lexus SA) Dealer of the year for 2012 and Lexus Group Dealer of the year for 2011, 2012 and 2013. Dave joined the CMH Ford Division in 2021 and was transferred to CMH Ford Ballito in September 2021.

We asked Dave how important is it to test drive a car before purchasing it? Dave said that it’s vitally important to test a motor vehicle before purchasing. He informed me that in today’s very competitive motor retail environment, guests must be sure that they have qualified for all their pre-purchase options and that their vehicle requirements have been fully met. During the COVID “Hangover”, as Dave calls it, the average consumer is holding onto their vehicle longer as opposed to pre-COVID times, more so now that we are experiencing interest rate and petrol price hikes. Consumers, therefore, need to explore all the vehicle packages available and, once concluded, perform the touch and feel test drive to validate and finalise their important purchase decision.
