Spring into Beauty with Salt Skin Co.

As always, we lookout for our readers and inform you all on the best beauty finds in your area. We recently spoiled ourselves to therapeutic treatments at Salt Skin Co., in Brettenwood Estate. Founded by Camilla Kerr, who has worked in the beauty industry for 13 years and is a skin health enthusiast, she has opened her own practice this July and offers treatments ranging from nail and skincare to hair and make-up for special occasions.

Camilla understands skin! After doing brides’ make-up for years, she realised some really prep their skin for the big day and others don’t, and that made a huge difference to the end result on the big day! This led Camilla to study and dive deeper into skin aesthetics.

With the intention to revive ourselves from the winter blues, Sharlene, Lorinda, and I entered Camilla’s sanctuary, with ambient music in the background and sweet-scented air. We were warmly greeted by her beautiful nail tech, Rosie, who took great care of us. Starting with me first; indulging in a pedicure, she began with cuticle care, and after I picked my colours from a wide range of Lola Lee gel polishes, she painted my toenails, then did a purifying foot soak, filed off my dead skin, did a peppermint scrub (at this point I was craving ice-cream), and ended off with a massage so good that if I were lying horizontal, I’d be horizontal for a while…!

Sharlene having done both a manicure and pedicure, is now fully confident to take on spring! After choosing a beautiful cherry red, cue ”Flowers” by Miley Cyrus, she was also prepped carefully and gently, and pampered to the core.

Camilla, after doing a quick consult regarding Lorinda’s skin, was excited to get started! First, she did a CR chemical face and neck resurfacing, to treat and address Lorinda’s skin concerns. She has four different resurfacing treatments to best deal with your skin. Next, Lorinda had her face fully numbed before a full face and neck micro-needling, and collagen induction therapy! It’s a very easy to handle “procedure”, followed by a SOS sheet mask that just cools and calms the skin down after the needling, and the red light therapy just promotes healing!

After Lorinda’s session, her skin was red (felt a bit like slight sunburn) and tight. She is excited to see the results in a few weeks! This procedure can be repeated every four to six weeks (about six times) and then you let your skin rest for a year and the results are long lasting! So definitely worth it!

Thank you to Camilla and her team at Salt Skin Co., for making us feel and look like our best selves, we truly appreciate it and enjoyed every moment being spoilt and cannot wait to come back!
