North Coast Our Home Town

Opening photo by Barry Bowditch Photography

A sense of community in the North Coast is one of the things we love most about living here! When times are tough, we come together and support one another, because without each other, this town wouldn’t be the same. We caught up with some local business owners to find out more about what they offer, and why they love Ballito.

Curro Castle Mount RichmoreÂ

Curro Castle Mount Richmore is a home away from home, offering both a happy, playful environment for children, with a smart, fun and dynamic facility that’s ready to embrace the whole-child learning curriculum from three months to five years old. The queen of this Castle is Jacqueline Clark. She’s a mom to three boys, who have had a huge impact on how she runs things at Curro Castle, and she is passionate about her job. “My passion in life is to help, and in particular, to help young people grow into confident adults with a high self-esteem. I believe this is the answer to doing life well.” Jacky has been teaching for over 20 years and brings all of her experience to Curro Castle Mount Richmore. Why does Jacky love being based at Curro in Salt Rock? “We are so blessed to have many families who have moved to KZN who choose our school, and it is always comforting to see how quickly our Curro Castle families embrace and include our new families,” she says. “Our motto is, “Your family is our family!” and our Castle families are proof that we live by this.”

They want the best for each of their members and offer the personal coaching they need to reach their individualised goals. Since they started in Ballito, they have built an amazing community of like-minded individuals from all walks of life who uplift and motivate each other. Owner Emma Rogers loves being a part of the Ballito community and watching it grow. “Ballito is home to a special group of people whose respect and loyalty you need to earn. I have loved the challenge of earning that respect and loyalty and watching the continual growth of our business, even through hard times.” She has really missed coaching their members face-to-face during the lockdown!
