Col’Cacchio – Bringing Families Together

There is nothing like an early afternoon lunch with great company. Col’Cacchio at New Salt Rock shopping centre sets a bright and relaxing atmosphere to indulge in delicious foods and drinks.

The best thing that a sunny day calls for is a chilling drink. We tried their Grapefruit Paloma, which was slightly sweet with a buzz from the tequila. A perfect sunny drink for mocktail lovers is their daikiwi, which is a blended slushy drink with kiwi extract, mint, and pineapple. And for someone who likes to start with a treat, their Bar One milkshake really hits the spot.

With a wide variety of cuisines to choose from, we started light with a mini garlic and herb pizza bread and a fresh Beef Capacio, that paired well with our drinks. After giving our taste buds a little tease, it was time for a few main dishes. Col’Cacchio had released a new signature menu, which no one should pass up. From the new menu, we ordered the Asian chicken stir-fry that is mixed with noodles and sprinkled with toasted cashew nuts that elevate the flavour and fill you up – it had a slight kick to it which we loved. The hake with prawns and chips, is undeniable, with a buttery hake fillet with flavourful prawns and your choice of either creamy garlic sauce or a spicy peri peri – it’s a dish that will leave you savouring every bite. Lastly, we had to order from their extensive wood-fire pizza menu, their Moghul – Indian butter chicken, yoghurt, fior di latte mozzarella, and coriander, topped with crispy onion, was the eighth reason why Col’Cacchio brings families together. I think we will be dreaming about their food!

Though those starters and mains filled us… we couldn’t say no to a sweet ending. Their dessert menu has many options to satisfy everyone’s taste buds, and for me, the double chocolate brownie with bar one sauce and vanilla ice cream was calling my name. Do you think it’s a simple size? Wrong, a big brownie with crispy edges and a soft centre… yum! Okay, we didn’t just have that, we also had to get their Italian Kisses as we are also salted caramel fans.

It was a delicious afternoon and we left happy and were already planning our next visit.
