About the Course

Although Simbithi has some wonderful facilities, Simbithi Estate would not be what it is without their beautiful 18-hole golf course. It has a par of 60, comprising of par 3s, par 4s and one par 5, so the course ensures you sharpen your short game. The course was designed by Peter Matkovich, one of the best golf course designers in the country, and features pristine fairways, thoughtfully-placed and newly-laid greens that hold a well-struck shot, and a layout that allows golfers to play every club in their bags. The course is always well-maintained and a pleasure to play and its family-friendly design allows for the whole family to enjoy a round or nine holes together!

Beers and Burgers

In addition to its beautiful course, Simbithi Country Club has some great eateries for you to grab a beer and burger during or after your game. The Fig Tree Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a tasty burger while enjoying the unmatched view of the 18th hole from your table. Or, after a good game of golf, enjoy a delicious dinner here with the family, as they offer a variety of kiddies choices, such as the “Hole in One” brekkie and the Mini Smashed Burgers and Fries, and have a supervised playground of any kid’s dreams! If you really want to enjoy what Simbithi Country Club offers, have a seat at The Fig Tree after a Friday afternoon round and enjoy the evening live music while having a drink and chatting with family and friends! Or, if you fancy a beer with your four-ball, head over to the stylish Drop Zone Bar for a round of drinks or sundowners. Their fun and relaxed atmosphere is sure to create the perfect ending to any golfer’s day. Simbithi also has a Halfway House if you are feeling peckish during your game of golf. Order one of their homemade pies or sandwiches, or go all out and “Build Your Own Brekkie” on Saturday and Sunday mornings to ensure a morning of birdies!

Other Facilities

The Pro Shop can also be found at Simbithi Country Club, providing golfers with all the clothing and equipment they need for a successful game. Grab one of Simbithi Country Club’s high-quality branded golf-wear to truly experience the life of this golf club! Lessons can be arranged with either of their pros: Warren Abery or Ryan Schierhout – proshop@simbithi.com or 032 946 5407. Special rates are available for juniors. Cart hire is also available, and there are tennis courts if you’re not in the mood to tee off. The Country Club also has gorgeous wedding and conference venues, because what golfing couple wouldn’t want to have their special day at this stunning course?

What Makes Simbithi Unique?

Their course is the first, and only, Executive Course in South Africa, which means you can play an entire 18-hole round within three hours. Also, each hole on the course is intriguingly named after the portion of farmland it once occupied, before the estate was developed. All residents and visitors are welcome to enjoy this amazing course!

Lush Zimbali Country Club

About the Course

This lush and luxurious 18-hole course was designed by Tom Weiskop, former Open Champion. It is a par 72 and provides something different and unique at every hole. An added plus to this fabulous course is that it has many tee boxes on all holes, enabling all handicap levels to have an enjoyable game. Also, because of its design and distance, it is a ‘championship course’, suitable for the pros!

Beers and Burgers

Zimbali’s quaint Halfway House will satisfy any golfer’s cravings, offering homemade pies, a delish chicken wrap and other snacks for along the way. However, the real beers and burgers will be found after the game, at the Crowned Eagle Restaurant. This African Classical themed restaurant offers tasty lunches or dinners, such as steak burgers, chicken pregos and a masala wrap, which will go down smoothly with any one of their range of beers on offer. A round of golf here would not be complete without a visit to their 19th hole. Zimbali members would argue that their bar has the best G&T to get rid of the ‘yips’!

Other Facilities

Zimbali Country Club also has a stocked Pro Shop with friendly staff, and George Harvey is on hand for exceptional golf lessons and tips. Cart hire is available and tennis courts are nearby if you want a change from those dreaded bunker-shots!

What Makes Zimbithi Unique?

What makes this course special is that you won’t go one round, or sometimes even one hole, without encountering one of their resident creatures. From vervet monkeys and geese to bush buck and even snakes, you’re sure to have an interesting game!
