When it comes to decorating a cake using flowers and other plants, there is so much to pick from and pair with. Dried plants are in this festive season and baby’s breath is always a fan favorite. Although poisonous when fresh, once dried, it becomes one of the most versatile to use when dressing a cake. The stunning sprinkle of white pair beautifully with fresh flowers such as roses which are perfect to use all year sound for any cake.

Dressing cakes with other sugary goodness is also a really good idea. Try topping your cakes off with chocolate balls lightly dusted with a little edible glitter or use a few shimmering pieces of edible gold leaf to add a little extra glitz and glam to already fabulous Chocolate Nostalgia. Adding chocolate (yes, more sweetness!) to a cake can also bring not only an extra bit of ‘Mmm’ for all you sweet-toothed folk but if used correctly can really make a cake stand out. Placing a few pieces of peppermint crisp, add a mint leaf as a topping on a decadent Peppermint Tart not only looks stunning with its hints of emerald green but taste wise, is the cherry on top.

Speaking of cherries, fresh fruit incorporated with flowers are very in! They can be mixed and matched to create not only different flavours but different colour palettes along with it. Topping a Château Gâteaux B1 cake with a mixture of fresh cherries and raspberry adds a little Christmas cheer with their vibrate pops of red but also pairs well with the cakes chocolatey taste that’ll definitely have you saving room for dessert. Let your imagination flow! In minutes you
can transform an already perfect cake into a beautifully decorated cake fit for the Queen!
